Introducing SharedSolar, our innovative program that allows you to experience the advantages of solar energy without the hassle of installing solar panels on your property. Developed by RenewChoice, SharedSolar brings clean and renewable energy to homes and businesses that cannot access traditional rooftop solar panels.
With approximately 12,000 solar panels set to be installed, we aim to provide clean, sustainable energy to hundreds of households across the following communities:
Provo
Spanish Fork
Salem
Nephi
Manti
Levan
How does it work?
Customers can subscribe for 1 kilowatt (kw) blocks. Each will generate 200-kilowatt-hours (kwh) of energy. An average-size home uses about 750 kwh per month. Customers can keep their subscriptions for up to 20 years. If they move to another city within RenewChoice service territory, their solar blocks go with them.
