Terms & Conditions for a new electric water heater to replace an existing electric water heater ($50.00)
- Existing residential customers that are replacing an existing electric water heater with a new electric water heater may qualify.
- Customers must have a current residential electric utility account that is not more than 30 days past due.
- Work must be completed by a licensed contractor. Non-negotiable.
- Customers are eligible for up to two water heater rebates per electric utility account. (Proof of two water heaters will be required)
- Rebate program terms and availability are subject to change at any time.
Terms & Conditions to convert your natural gas water heater to an electric ($500.00)
- Existing residential customers that are converting their water heater from natural gas to an electric water heater may qualify.
- Customers must have a current residential electric utility account that is not more than 30 days past due.
- Work must be completed by a licensed contractor. Non-negotiable.
- Customers are eligible for up to two water heater rebates per electric utility account.
- Rebate incentive is not offered to customers upgrading an existing electric water heater.
- Rebate program terms and availability are subject to change at any time.
Required Information (non-negotiable)
All rebate applications must include the proper information from a licensed contractor that includes the following:
- Prior water heater details (size (gal.) electric/gas)
- New water heater details (size (gal.) date of install)
- Electrician’s invoice (conversion from gas to electric)
Complete and submit online application within 45 days of installation.
Allow 4-6 weeks for processing. A check will be issued to the name of the utility account holder.
FAQ’s
If I have a gas water heater and want to install a new gas water heater, do I qualify?
- No. The rebates offered are only for electric water heaters.
What if I purchase a tankless water heater, do I qualify?
- Yes, if the tankless water heater is all electric (not heated by natural gas) it can qualify for the rebate. The same terms and conditions apply, and proper documentation from a licensed contractor is required.
Can I get more than one rebate?
- Yes, if your home has two water heaters you may apply for two rebates. Proof of two water heaters will be verified.
What if I already installed a water heater before the rebates were offered, can I still qualify?
- If you can provide proof of purchase and that the work was done within 60 days of this offering (March 21, 2023), please contact your city administrator to see if you qualify.
